Spheres and Shapes of leaves
are Sounding through a bell scape
to promised land
Utopia, a shortsighted wish
myopia of circumstance,
yet visions hold if I hold their
Truth, what’s more is this dream
between us two
a shape I knew before young eyes
could recognize their power, connected
to roots and soil through a
deep dream that’s up to boil
a bubbled glass and sublimate
above emotions like love
& hate

Visual Formation

24 Feb

I’m on the fence about definitions.  I find myself frustrated by how we often take them far beyond their necessary context and usefulness.  A definition can sometimes be vital to understanding the world around us, but a little further down that road is the trouble arising from the assumptions our definitions afford us to make about our surroundings.  They help us to forget that we live inside of a mysterious world.

To prove such inarticulate truths, I like to draw pictures.  So below is my point, and case.  Have a look from close up.  And have a look from far away.  Ask yourself what you see.

Multiple Personality

I could easily describe what images were floating around during the creative process, but… what would that do for you, the viewer?  The real truth about this piece of artwork, is that I do not know what it is.  Anyone may think of a perfectly appropriate definition; those would likely differ based on what visuals any single observer extracted.  Some have said.. mountains.  Trees.  Porpoises.  If they saw it, it’s there.  I may not have intended to draw any of those things but clearly they were drawn despite the absence of my attention.

To define the image as being something or other would not inherently take away your ability to see more within it, but it might make you less perceptually flexible to seek new, personal answers.  So, I think, beware the definitions of others, not because they are incorrect but because we are powerful enough to form our own.

A friend in need is a friend, indeed.

So, I had the good fortunate recently to live with a (semi-)new friend for four months.  I have known this person since my first year of undergrad but had never really shared company on a one-one basis until, after moving back to Ontario to resume employment as an amateur biologist, the two of us ended up as roommates in the residence of a mutual friend.

What touched me so much about this friend was her strength;  I knew she had lost her mother years before, and her constant cheerfulness and motivation are an immense inspiration to me.  I guess what I saw in her was how losing a loved one can temper ourselves to be amazing, to love ourselves and others and each day we have!  Thanks friend.

If you haven’t guessed, the drawing above is her mother (pilfered from a bedside photo, muahaha… I’m so sneaky), a moving-away and thank you gift. YAY!

The quest to understand consciousness…

The quest to understand consciousness…

This is some seriously deep shit. I like!

(I’ve decided to commit to full spelling of cuss words, writing sh#$ or some other variation would be putting it into your mind anyways but being a sly ass about it.  And I confess, that point is actually one I originally heard brought up by Russell Peters, only his regarded old ladies using the ‘N-word’.  Whoops, it’s in your mind now. Sorry!)

La Premiere

Here is la premiere attempt at crawling out of my mental hidey-hole to share with the mass internet population.  As I’ve been harboring shyness and not a little insecurity, this blog is  something which I have been putting off for several years.  Yeah?  Yeah.

Here is what I really wanted to share, a part of what I’m all about:

I first shared this drawing over the internet 3 years ago (  Since then, it has been shared many times across the internet,  a great surprise(!) which I am humbly grateful towards.  It is definitely awesome to be able to know I’m sharing ‘successfully’ ya know?  My only criticism (constructively I intend) is for individuals who forget or neglect to properly credited artworks, or try to profit from another’s creation.
That AIN’T COOL Sistah! (Brothah?)

Seriously, if you like my work, I love that!  Do be inspired if thats how they feel to you :o)   But please, we share with others so that we can be inspired from what others share, so respect the creative works of artists by sharing responsibly and citing properly!!! Thanks.  Enjoy!
